Dr. Lamotte is a neurologist with expertise in movement disorders, autonomic disorders/dysautonomia, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, dementia and neurodegenerative diseases, spine disorders, headache, neuropathy, vascular neurology, infectious and inflammatory neurological disorders among others.
Dr. Lamotte's expertise is further bolstered by his numerous board certifications, including the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (Autonomic Disorders), the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (Neurology), the National Board of Medical Examiners, and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. He is also licensed to practice medicine and surgery in Utah and Wyoming.
With over a decade of professional experience, Dr. Lamotte has held prestigious positions at renowned institutions, including the Mayo Clinic, where he completed a fellowship in Autonomic Disorders, and the National Institutes of Health/MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where he served as an Academic Chief Resident in Neurology. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah and a Staff Clinician at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Lamotte's extensive research and academic contributions are evident in his numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations at national and international conferences. He has served as a reviewer for prestigious journals, such as Nature Neurology, Annals of Neurology, Clinical Autonomic Research, and Neurology, among others. Additionally, Dr. Lamotte has been recognized with several scholastic honors, including the American Autonomic Society Felicia Axelrod Young Investigator Award.
In addition to his extensive clinical and academic expertise, Dr. Lamotte has significant experience as a forensic neurology expert witness, providing insights and testimony in a variety of legal cases. His forensic work spans multiple jurisdictions and a broad range of medical-legal disputes. Dr. Lamotte has been retained by both plaintiffs and defendants.
