About

I am a board-certified adult Infectious Diseases physician and internist, as well as a full Professor of Medicine at a major medical school. In my busy clinical practice I treat complex bacterial, fungal, and viral infections in the inpatient and outpatient settings. I have special expertise in infections in transplant recipients and other immunocompromised hosts. I am also an experienced educator, teaching trainees on rounds and frequently lecturing in the hospital and at other institutions. I am the recipient of a number of professional honors, I have an extensive publication record, and am an editorial board member for leading journals in infectious diseases and transplantation.

I am an experienced medical expert witness and have been reviewing cases since 2010 for both defense and plaintiffs. I have worked with more than 50 different law firms in CT, GA, IA, IN, IL, ME, MI, NJ, NM, NY, and PA, and had multiple repeat clients. My broad expertise in infectious diseases has allowed me to work on a wide variety of cases, including surgical infections, orthopedic infections, skin and soft tissue infections, endocarditis, Lyme disease, pneumonia, meningitis, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, Clostridium difficile, and infections in the intensive care unit.

I provide attorneys with unbiased evaluation of the merits of a case. I pride myself on providing high-quality reports in a timely fashion. They are clear and well-written, based on a meticulous review of records, and refer to the medical literature to strengthen our case.

In addition, my long teaching career has given me the skills to be an excellent speaker, whether in deposition or trial testimony, remotely or in person. I can break down complex ideas and clearly explain chains of cause and effect for a jury. I will be glad to provide references from clients who have been satisfied with how I served their ID expert needs.
