Clifford Law Offices has announced a $4.85 million settlement on behalf of the family of a 27-year-old man who tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle crash involving a semi-truck.

According to a public update shared on LinkedIn by the firm, the man was a passenger in a vehicle making a left turn when it was struck by a speeding semi-truck. The impact proved fatal for the young man, prompting a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of his family.

Attorneys Bradley Cosgrove and Charles Haskins, partners at Clifford Law Offices, represented the victim’s family in the case and successfully negotiated the multi-million dollar resolution.

“This settlement provides a measure of justice for a preventable tragedy that should never have happened,” the firm noted in its public announcement.

After trial before Associate Judge Leslie A. Meek, the jury answered "No" to the first question on the verdict form, which asked whether the Defendant acted negligently. Because of that finding, the jury did not consider the second question about the Plaintiff's own negligence. The Court entered judgment in favor of Wynn and against Wade in the amount of $0.00 on the same day.
