Sandra Roger sued her insurer, Farmers Insurance Company, for underinsured motorist benefits after John Carpentier allegedly ran a red light while intoxicated and struck her vehicle in Wolcott, Connecticut, in November 2020. Roger alleged serious and permanent injuries to her neck, back, shoulder, right hip, and chest. Farmers stated it had insufficient knowledge regarding the nature and extent of Roger's injuries and raised special defenses related to policy setoffs and deductions. The jury returned a verdict in Roger's favor and awarded $35,000 in non-economic damages.

Valerie Romo, a truck driver, sued Werner Enterprises under California's FEHA, alleging the company discharged her because of a shoulder and back disability and retaliated against her for requesting accommodations. A jury in the Central District of California returned a verdict in favor of the Defendant on all five claims on October 14, 2025.

Following a month-long jury trial in the Orange County Superior Court, a $15.79 million judgment was secured and fully preserved against Jackson Kwok, the former President and COO of California-based Genera Corporation, and his wife, Annie Mun Nee Wong. While Kwok successfully recovered $180,000 on a cross-claim alleging Genera breached a post-termination settlement agreement, the jury found overwhelmingly in favor of Genera Corporation on its cross-complaint. The jury determined that the senior executives abused their positions of trust to misappropriate and convert corporate funds for personal enrichment. Post-trial, the defense mounted extensive challenges, including motions for a new trial and judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV). All motions were successfully defeated as untimely, leaving the multimillion-dollar verdict intact and securing an additional $623,256 in costs and expert fees for the company.

A San Bernardino County jury found that a sheriff's deputy negligently operated a county-owned 2020 Ford Explorer, causing a collision that injured a Hesperia motorist at the intersection of Hesperia Road and Nisqualli Road in Victorville. The jury awarded $3,850,000 in total damages, including $750,000 in past medical expenses, $1,000,000 in future medical expenses, $600,000 in past non-economic damages, and $1,500,000 in future non-economic damages.

Landlord Wins $28K Over Lease Breach and Stolen Appliances

A Contra Costa County jury ruled in favor of a Brentwood landlord after his former tenants vacated a rental property in poor condition, failed to pay rent, and removed household appliances — including a refrigerator, washer, and dryer — without his consent. The Plaintiff had leased the property since 2015 and, following a prior eviction proceeding, obtained a stipulated agreement requiring the Defendants to vacate by July 15, 2022, and return the home broom-clean. The jury found the tenants liable for breach of lease, breach of the Court-ordered stipulation, and conversion of personal property. The Court entered judgment for $28,762.50 in damages, plus nearly $7,000 in prejudgment interest and additional attorney's fees and costs.

Connecticut Jury Awards $198K in Head-On Crash Verdict

A Connecticut jury awarded more than $198,000 to two men who suffered spinal injuries after a driver crossed into oncoming traffic on Boston Avenue in Stratford in the early hours of January 9, 2022. The driver, operating a company-owned vehicle, veered from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane without warning and struck the vehicle carrying the two Plaintiffs. One Plaintiff drove the car; the other was a passenger. Both sustained cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine injuries along with radiculopathy. The jury held the Defendant driver and his employer's company 100 percent liable, rejecting the defense's claim that the driver of the struck vehicle shared fault for pulling away from a stop sign. The driver received $95,552.01 and the passenger received $103,368.02.

Indiana Driver Wins $136K in Commercial Truck Crash Verdict

A Lake County jury ruled in favor of Rae Casto and awarded her $136,000 in damages after Alex McCollum, driving on behalf of Aim Integrated Logistics, Inc., struck her vehicle at the Silhavy Road and LaPorte Avenue roundabout on October 14, 2022. The Defendants admitted liability at trial, and the jury decided only on the amount of damages. Judge Calvin D. Hawkins entered judgment on October 17, 2025.

Zezy R. Farfan, an intellectually disabled woman who successfully completed a six-month work training program at a Station Casinos property, applied for a porter job at Red Rock Casino in 2018. The casino extended her a conditional offer, then withdrew it the day after calling her in specifically to ask about her disability accommodations. A federal jury in Nevada found Red Rock Casino liable for failing to hire her because of her actual disability, her perceived disability, and for failing to reasonably accommodate her — awarding $400,000 in compensatory damages under each theory and $2,500,000 in punitive damages.

A Connecticut jury found a commercial driver and his employer, Restoration Specialists, LLC, 85% at fault for a July 2023 intersection collision in Wolcott. The Plaintiff, Arthur Fil, sustained multiple cervical, thoracic, and lumbar injuries after the company vehicle suddenly turned left across his lane of travel. Although the jury assigned 15% comparative negligence to the Plaintiff, it calculated gross economic and noneconomic damages at $30,000, resulting in a finalized net award of $25,500.
