Connecticut Jury Awards $198K in Head-On Crash Verdict
A Connecticut jury awarded more than $198,000 to two men who suffered spinal injuries after a driver crossed into oncoming traffic on Boston Avenue in Stratford in the early hours of January 9, 2022. The driver, operating a company-owned vehicle, veered from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane without warning and struck the vehicle carrying the two Plaintiffs. One Plaintiff drove the car; the other was a passenger. Both sustained cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine injuries along with radiculopathy. The jury held the Defendant driver and his employer's company 100 percent liable, rejecting the defense's claim that the driver of the struck vehicle shared fault for pulling away from a stop sign. The driver received $95,552.01 and the passenger received $103,368.02.
